University of Mauritius and Open University to offer Commonwealth Youth Work degree
The University of Mauritius (UOM) and the Open University of Mauritius (OU) will offer Commonwealth Youth Work degree as from August 2019. This statement was made by the Minister of Youth and Sports, Mr Stephan Toussaint, on Thursday at the opening ceremony of a workshop for the delivery of the Youth Work Degree.
According to the Minister, the youth should enroll for this programme as it will enable them to meet challenges, to serve the society, to add value to organisations, as well as ensure the socio-economic progress of the country.
He added that the programme will help, motivate and guide the youth in their personal and professional development as well as turn them into responsible citizens.
The three-day workshop is an initiative of the Commonwealth Higher Education Consortium for Youth Work, in collaboration with the UOM and the OU. It aims to provide guidance and strengthen the capacity of participants and their respective institutions in the effective delivery of the Commonwealth Youth Work certificate, diploma and/or degree.
