Ministry of Health to organise a series of activities to mark World Cancer Day

The Ministry of Health and Quality of Life will organise various activities to mark the World Cancer Day which is observed on the 4th February every year. The aim is to raise awareness on cancer, the risk factors, and the preventive measures to combat this lethal disease.  This year's theme is 'I Am And I Will', calling for personal commitment and action to fight cancer.

The event will be launched by the Minister of Health and Quality of Life on the 12th February 2019 at the Roche Bois Social Welfare Centre where a screening for breast and cervical cancer will be carried out. A wide range of screening for breast and cervical cancer along with counselling for prevention of cancer will be held around the island.

An exhibition on healthy life style and healthy diet as well as sensitisation campaigns will be broadcast on television and carried out at the level of Community Health Centres, Women Centres, Social Welfare Centres and schools.
